Peer Reviewers

Ukanus: Indonesian Journal of Economics and Business applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest academic quality and integrity of all published works. Each submitted manuscript is evaluated by experts in the relevant field who provide constructive feedback to improve the scholarly value and clarity of the article.

Peer Review Policy

  1. Double-Blind Review:
    Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review process to maintain objectivity and impartiality.

  2. Reviewer Selection:
    Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic qualifications, research experience, and familiarity with the subject area of the manuscript.

  3. Review Process:

    • Each manuscript is initially screened by the editorial board to ensure conformity with the journal’s scope, format, and ethical standards.

    • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to two independent reviewers for comprehensive evaluation.

    • Reviewers assess the originality, theoretical framework, research design, data analysis, contribution to knowledge, and overall clarity of the manuscript.

    • The review results are categorized as:

      • Accepted without revision

      • Accepted with minor revision

      • Major revision required

      • Rejected

  4. Decision and Communication:
    The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief, based on reviewers’ recommendations. Authors will be informed of the decision via email and may be asked to revise their manuscript accordingly.

  5. Review Timeframe:
    The peer review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the paper.

  6. Confidentiality and Ethics:

    • Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.

    • They are not permitted to use any part of the manuscript’s content for personal or professional gain.

    • Reviewers are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.

Reviewer Recognition

Ukanus values the contribution of its reviewers as essential partners in maintaining the academic quality of the journal. Each reviewer’s efforts are recognized through:

  • Reviewer certificates (upon request).

  • Acknowledgment in the annual “List of Reviewers.”

  • Consideration for future editorial roles based on performance and contribution.
